Francesca Mencarini

 

Francesca Mencarini He was born in Temuco in 1980, and lived there until he was 18 years old. She studied a Bachelor of Art at the Universidad Católica de Chile, a school from which she graduated in 2004. She works as an independent illustrator and illustrator, collaborating with various publishers, magazines, and design and advertising agencies. He points out as main influences and references the animated series of the 80s and 90s –Japanese animation, Disney classics and Hannah-Barbera–, the work of cartoonists such as Moebius, Manara, Edward Gorey and Henry Darger, the Japanese prints of the Ukiyo genre- e and the aesthetics of television series and films such as Twin Peaks, Blade Runner or Sergio Leone's spaghetti western, among others. He currently resides in Santiago de Chile. For Amanuta he has illustrated Antonio and the treasure of Juan Fernández (2007); Antonio and the mystery of the rock men (2008); Yacay in the lands of the good wind (2008) and Yacay heading to the Kaibas Plains (2010)
